The human heart is an amazing muscle in the body. Most people already know that they need this muscle in order to live, but they may not know exactly how much work the heart does in order to keep your body alive. Of course, the human heart pumps blood throughout the body, but it can be hard to understand exactly how much blood the heart pumps. During the lifetime of an average human being, the heart will pump about a million barrels of blood. This is quite a large amount of blood because this evens out to many barrels of blood each year.
